It’s already quite late, so I cannot embark on a lengthy post. I had mentioned that we Baden CSJ’s were in our “Chapter of Affairs” last month and that the Holy Spirit was very much in evidence. So my little teaser is just to share with you our Chapter logo and theme: “Incarnating Mission - [...]

I just came upon a website that I thought I’d mention. If you know anyone who is discerning a vocation to religious life, you may want to pass this on to them: VISION Vocation Match. The site guides you through questions about what kind of community experience, ministry, prayer styles, etc. you are attracted [...]

Amazing…in a country where voter turnout is embarrassingly low, we have states putting up new barriers that are preventing citizens - 90-year old nuns included - from exercising their constitutional right to vote!
See this article…I used to play clarinet for the liturgies at the motherhouse of these nuns.
I suppose if there were some evidence of [...]

I just spent the better part of last night asking this question repeatedly as I tossed and turned, unable to sleep - for no apparent reason as best I can tell. I finished my grading by 10:30, found out I needed to post a homework solution for my students, got a Skype call from my [...]

Some of you may celebrate St. Joseph’s Day, and since he is the patron of our congregation, I wanted to write about this on this feast day. She was just interviewed by a Washington, DC TV channel. Like Fr. Andrew Greeley, her novels are situated in Catholic contexts. Sounds like she is [...]

A few days ago, perhaps you noticed the addition of the blog “Pippa’s Porch” to my list of cool blogs. I just wanted to highlight this delightful corner of the blogosphere, and encourage you to sit for a spell on her porch. She’s far more faithful than I to regular updates on her blog, and [...]

Yeah, kind of like a sequel to the old hymn, “Blessed Assurance”…
Allow me to share with you this quote:
Have patience with everything that remains unsolved in your heart. Try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books written in a foreign language. Do not now look for the answers. They cannot [...]

I may have mentioned earlier that my CLC community is making the Spiritual Exercises in a communal format this year, and our guides have planned our journey so that the past couple of weeks have been spent contemplating the birth of Jesus and the events leading up to that. In the whole picture, I found [...]
