First, Happy New Year to all! May 2008 be a blessed year for you and those you love.
I’ve been pondering this past Sunday’s Gospel reading all week. Joseph had another disturbing dream that prompted him to flee with Jesus and Mary to Egypt to avoid the slaughter perpetrated by Herod. Amazing how quickly he seemed to act, just on the basis of a dream. My dreams are often so bizarre and nonsensical that it would be hard for me take any kind of decisive action on them.
And maybe I’m just paying more attention, but I seem to be aware that I’m dreaming a lot these past several weeks, and the dreams I’m able to remember, some of them seem to have some significant images. Perhaps the key is to jot them down while they are still fresh in my mind and then ponder what they may be telling me. I did that once last week, but most of the time, I’d much rather just turn over and go back to sleep than turn on the light and reach for my journal.
Work is back in full swing…classes begin on Monday, and I’m a little behind on things…however, this is the second time I’m teaching these courses, and I already know the students, so it won’t be as difficult as last year.
