Some of you may celebrate St. Joseph’s Day, and since he is the patron of our congregation, I wanted to write about this on this feast day. Back in Baden, the celebration was held this past Sunday, but here in Detroit, I’ll be celebrating with some local CSJs tonight. At the same time, there’s a heaviness in me because of the sad news of the passing of Sr. Karen Larkins, who was two years behind me in entering the community. Her funeral is today in Baden, and I’m kind of torn up that I can’t be there. Add that to the weightiness that comes with praying the 3rd week of the exercises during Holy Week, and it’s understandable, to me, at least, why I’m coming up with nothing in the way of words for what I’m feeling.
So with my eyes fixed on Jesus this week, I just keep listening to him say, “Stay with me, Sandy. Don’t look away.”
